BELGRADE - Commissioner for Information of Public Importance,  Rodoljub Sabic said yesterday to Tanjug that besides positive marks his service received for the work effected so far, there is incomparably much more of the things it failed to do.  Sabic, who was a day before yesterday for the second time elected by the Serbian Assembly for that function, said that he expects in the future a better climate for implementation of the right to have free access to information, because that is the prerequisite of the future democratization of the society and approaching to the European standards.

NiS - To believe that the freedom of opinion and expression, media freedom, electoral right, right of citizens to participate in passing of the relevant decisions and numerous other rights could be implemented without free access to information of public interest would be an obvious, dangerous and harmful illusion, said the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance,  Rodoljub Sabic, who has yesterday participated in the work of two gatherings in  NiS where they spoke about free access to information.

For two years no one has been punished for legal infringement.  The most closed until now were  BIA (Security Intelligence Agency) and  the Ministry for Capital Investments.

Already in 2005 we have adopted the Law on State Auditing Institution. The main body of that institution, Council, should have been elected within six months from the effective date of this Law, but it still hasn't been elected.
