BELGRADE - Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, Mr.  Rodoljub Sabic, has yesterday delivered to the Assembly the Annual Report on Implementation of the Law on Access to Information, stating that in the last year the number of the appeals from citizens, non-governmental organizations and media has quadrupled.

Belgrade - Republic Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry for Capital Investments are the only ones from the state institutions that haven't delivered the reports to the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance. In relation to the  last year the number of reports on implementation of the Law on Information of Public Importance, submitted to the Commissioner by the state institutions, has doubled in relation to  2005, is underlined in the Annual Report of the Commissioner for Information of Public Imoprtance that has been delivered to the Assembly of Serbia. The Commissioner also points out to negative examples and problems in law implementation, and as the most prominent negative example states Safety Information Agency (Bezbednosno informativnu agenciju).

Law and obstinacy in the practice of the Republic Electoral Commission

Laws and good will

After the session of the Republic Electoral Commission held by the end of February, our public has received a significant quantity of information from the Report on funding the electoral campaign.   It was delivered by the political parties that participated in the campaign.  Because such information were for the first time publicly presented in our country, we can say that such an outcome of pretty wild session of the Republic Electoral Commission represents a marked, democratic result, something which is objectively speaking, a reason for satisfaction.

Investigating the consequences of explosion of the ammunition warehouse near  Paracin, journalist S. R. asked from the Ministry in charge the information about remedying of the damage in school institutions.  He also asked for  the copies of the Minutes on Evaluation of Damage and Technical Reception of Works and copies of the Contracts on Works on Remedy.

Belgrade - Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, Mr. Rodoljub Sabic stated yesterday, that after talks with the Minister of Economy, Mr. Predrag Bubalo, he received the information that the Privatization  Agency shall already today organize the meeting on which the whole Contract on Sales of  RTB Bor shall be put at disposal to the labor union and the representatives of the public. Sabic has, in written statement, pointed out that the  Contract on Privatization of  RTB Bor represents a document for which public has justified interest to know the contents.

Labor union and employees  request from the Republic Agency for Privatization copy of the Contract on Sales of the  RTB „Bor“ to Rumanian company  CUPRUM. Because they didn't receive the copy, they used that opportunity as one of the reasons for public expression of dissent by the workers of  RTB and the citizens of  Bor.
