Meeting with representatives of German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ)

Commissioner Milan Marinovic, Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unkovic, Advisor to the Commissioner Rada Kovacevic, and Dragoslav Djukic from the Cabinet of the Commissioner held a meeting today with representatives of the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ), the EU Delegation to Serbia, and the Ministry of Justice. The topic of the meeting was the support of GIZ within the project Strengthening the Rule of Law in Serbia. This project envisions support for the implementation of measures from the Action Plan for Chapter 23, including the measures for personal data protection.

Commissioner’s Office Started Student Internship in 2022

12.4 Yesterday, Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković received students who will conduct a two-week internship with the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection. This is the eighth generation of students from the Environmental Law Clinic at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade and the first students to apply for this internship through the Student Professional Practice in Public Administration Fair 2021/2022.

During the professional internship, students will have the opportunity to apply previous theoretical knowledge and acquire completely new skills for the profession they are studying for, and get acquainted with the working environment of this institution. On that occasion, the importance of education and professional development of students in these areas was pointed out. The current cooperation with the Faculty of Security Studies in Belgrade, in the form of a short program of studies for Managers in the field of Personal Data Protection, and with the Faculty of Law in Kragujevac, for future Managers for Access to Information and Personal Data Protection, was also specially emphasized.

A Cooperation Agreement was recently signed with the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad, and it is also planned to establish cooperation with other higher education institutions in Serbia.

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Launched Unified Information System of Information Booklet

In accordance with the obligations under the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance ("Official Gazette of the RS", No. 120/04, 54/07, 104/09, 36/10, and 105/21), the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection launched the Unified Information System of Information Booklet on its website www.poverenik.rs. Pursuant to the same law, in this system and in accordance with the Instructions for the creation and publication of Information Booklet on Public Authority Work ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 10/22), the Information Booklet is created in electronic and machine-readable form. The Commissioner has also compiled and published his own Information Booklet in the above-mentioned information system.

Commissioner participated in expert meeting on video surveillance

Yesterday, Commissioner Milan Marinović participated in the expert meeting "Establishment of video surveillance in local self-governments and personal data protection", where he spoke about the legal framework and obligations of local self-government during the establishment and use of video surveillance. On that occasion, the Commissioner once again pointed out the importance of regulating this area systematically.
