Commissioner Milan Marinović attended the commemorative ceremony marking the International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism, held on November 9, 2022, at the National Theater in Belgrade, organized by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. In addition to members of the Government, the ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries from the public and cultural life of the Republic of Serbia, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps.

On November 9, 2022, representatives of the Commissioner's Office held in Niš the last planned round table in 2022 on the topic of the right to access information of public importance and the right to personal data protection. Previous round tables were held in Bujanovac and Novi Pazar.

The Commissioner organized these round tables in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Serbia and the Standing Conference of Cities and Municipalities, to bring the aforementioned rights closer to representatives of local self-governments and the media.

On November 8, the Commissioner's Office organized an online training in the field of free access to information of public importance, at the request of all interested Information Officers, of which 20 were present. The aim of the training was to familiarize its attendees with the amendments to the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance, whereon the attendees could present problems from the application of the law in practice. Special attention was paid to misdemeanor liability.

The lecturer from the Commissioner's Office once again reminded attendees that the deadline for the publication of the Information Booklet on the Unified Information System of Information Booklets, expires on November 16, 2022.

Today, accredited lecturers of the Commissioner's Office held professional training on the application of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance, for employees of the PUC "Belgrade Water Supply and Sewerage". A special focus of the training was on the amendments to the Law in the part regarding misdemeanor liability as well as the obligation to create Information booklets on the platform launched by the Commissioner, the Unified Information System of Information Booklets.

Proactive access to information has been improved both by increasing the number of authorities that are obliged to publish the Information Booklet on their work, and the number of information that will thusly be available to citizens. For the first time, citizens will be able to find all those information in one place, for all public authorities.

The Commissioner once again reminds all public authorities that the legal deadline for fulfilling this obligation expires on November 16, after which the Commissioner has the legal power to file a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings.
