With reference to 6 months since the Law on Free Access to the Information of Public Importance was passed and came into force, the Republic Commissioner for Information Rodoljub Sabic stated that the results of the implementation of the law are dissatisfactory and he invited all governmental bodies to do much more than so far to incite its implementation.
Commission for Information of Public Importance estimates that certain acts of the Draft of Law on Government, which is to be considered by the Parliament in the on-going session, are opposed to the democratic standards which are base for the Law on Free Access to the Information of Public Importance.
Today Commissioner for Information of Public Importance has asked the Government of Serbia to introduce the act according to Article 17 of Law on Free Access to the Information of Public Importance.
According to the abovementioned act, the Government of Serbia prescribes the fees sheet, which is used by authorities as the base for calculation of the costs of making and delivering documents' copies.
Today the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance met the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Serbia Predrag Markovic. In relation to this occasion the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic made the following announcement:
