Commissioner for Information of Public Importance observes that the decision of Belgrade District Court to return to the author and publisher of the book “Military Secret” copies of the book that were confiscated, represents a contribution to establishing and affirmation of European democratic standards in the field of freedom of speech, freedom of access and free use of information and freedom of its dissemination.
Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, Mr. Rodoljub Sabic, has today received Ambassador Hans Ola Urstad, Head of the OSCE Mission in Serbia and his collaborators. They spoke about results achieved so far in the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information, and about Constitutional provisions guaranteeing free access to information.
Commissioner for Information of Public Importance Rodoljub Sabic visited today the Police Administration for City of Belgrade. The Commissioner has talked with the Head of the Belgrade Police, General Milorad Simic, and his collaborators about the problems in the application of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance.
Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, Rodoljub Sabic evaluates that yesterday protesting of the NUNS (Independent Association of Journalists) due to refusal of the District Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade to offer the public information about the flow of procedure due to tragic death of lady journalist Dada Vujasinovic, as well as regarding the repeated request of the NUNS to the Government of Serbia to provide for execution of the Commissioner's Decision brought on that occasion, are completely justified.
