Commissioner for Information Rodoljub Sabic evaluated yesterday that selective availability of Concession Agreement for HorgoS - Pozega Highway to part of the public is not in line with the Law on Access to Information. "It isn't  disputable that some  information can be inaccessible to the public, but in the Law on Access to Information there is no discrimination, and what is accessible shall be accessible to anyone", said Sabic to Beta Agency regarding announcement that five Annexes of the Contract shall be accessible to the media, but not to the public.

The last decision of the Government of  Serbia that journalists should sign affidavit „that they shall not, under full criminal and material liability, record, copy, print or rewrite data from the Annex to the Concession Agreement for HorgoS - Pozega Highway“, is contravening domestic laws.

Reporters of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Charles Gorens and Adreas Gross have evaluated positively the performance on the job of Commissioner for access to information of public significance, was said yesterday from the office of the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic. In the meeting of Sabica and reporters of the Monitoring committee judged "as very important"  changes in the area of advancement of free access to information in Serbia and contribution given by the Commissioner and his service.

At the end of the month global anti corruption network non governmental organization Transparency International will publish its yearly “Index of corruption perception”. This event-simultaneous publishing of this respectable specific ranking list of corruption in many countries- always attracts great attention of the general public and media, as well as authorities. With a good reason, since the position of a country relating to index, and particularly its ranking, does not carry a mere abstract significance to it. For many, especially poor transitional countries, it is of utmost importance that the good position and ranking on the Index, is not only carried over to the international improvement of country's reputation but also onto the field of foreign investments

Rodoljub Sabic, Information Commissioner, again reminds ministers.

Belgrade - Commissioner for information of public significance Rodoljub Sabic has sent out a letter to all ministers yesterday, drawing their attention to their obligation of abiding by the Law on access to information of public significance.
