Mr. Rodoljub Sabic, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, said that the text published in today's edition of the "Press" daily under the heading: "Man of great Confidence; released Bagzi, employed by Mr. Sabic" was completely untrue and utterly malevolent..
Saying that the "Press" daily was abused for another of a number of increasingly aggressive actions the aim of which is to jeopardize the reputation of the institution of the Commissioner and to make its operations more difficult, the Commissioner reminded that actions such as open calls to disobey his decisions, malevolent, untrue and unprofessional comments on such decisions, unlawful decrease of salaries of the Commissioner's assistants and even attempts to denounce the Commissioner with foreign ambassadors as a person whose activities threaten the fight against corruption and organized crime were becoming increasingly frequent, not to mention other, even more base attempts.
Emphasizing that, in spite of all that, the institution managed by him would continue to insist on the exercise of rights of the public and consistent implementation of the law, Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic also said the following:

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has sent today to Tax Administration of the Republic of Serbia a warning for delivering tax decisions and enactments, so that on the shipment besides the name, family name and taxpayer's address unique citizens' identification number is also visible (UCIN), which is an act against the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act.

The Commissioner requested from Tax Administration to be informed within 15 days about what has been undertaken regarding elimination of those irregularities, due to possible undertaking of further measures from the Commissioner's competence.

The Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic warns that such practice is not specific only to Tax Administration, and appeals to all other subjects to give it up. In relation to that, he has also stated the following:

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has warned today that harmful practice continues, that certain authorities in power and public, that is, state owned companies try to evade, or to postpone execution of the orders from the Commissioner for Information's decisions, (although they are obligatory according to the law, final and executable) by submitting unauthorized complaints to Administrative Court.

Evaluating such practice as harmful both for the interests and rights of the citizens, but also for the reputation of state authorities and companies practicing it, the Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic stated in addition:

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Mr. Rodoljub Sabic and the Ombudsman Mr. Sasa Jankovic believe that the attacks, such as the headlines in the Vecernje novosti daily newspapers about the President of the Anti-Corruption Council Ms. Verica Barac, are an attempt at influencing and pressuring the state control authorities to give up on investigating the corruption cases and other illegal activities against the interests of the citizens of Serbia.
