The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has sent a letter to the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications to urge and plead with the Ministry to begin overseeing compliance of the Law on Electronic Communications (LEC), which is within its remit.
The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection has initiated an inspection of the Republic Geodetic Authority from the aspect of compliance with the Law on Personal Data Protection. The Commissioner's authorised officers will begin with on-site inspection tomorrow.
The aim of the inspection is to review the application of the Law on State Land Survey and Cadastre, more specifically its implementing regulation titled the Bylaw on Compilation and Maintenance of Real Estate Cadastre, which incorporates forms that are subsequently made publicly available and include personal data, including: personal identification number, surname, name, name of a parent, place of residence and address.
Following frequent inquiries by journalists and media outlets, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection confirms he received yesterday a communication from little Tijana Ognjanovic's parents in which they basically pleaded with the Commissioner to "release the Republic Health Insurance Fund from any legal duty to preserve data confidentiality, if indeed such duty exists" and announced he has sent a reply today. The Commissioner urged the Fun to provide assistance to diseased children whose parents made specific requests for such assistance as soon as possible.
The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection received today, at their request, representatives of the Chamber of enforcement officers, and talked with them about the warning on the unlawful processing of personal data of debtors - natural persons by the Chamber, which the Commissioner sent to the Chamber a few days ago.
