EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: DATA PROTECTION DAY 2023
The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection traditionally celebrates Data Protection Day, which this year will be celebrated on Monday, January 30, 2023, in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, room 1, Resavska 13-15, from 11:00 a.m.
Three years have passed since the adoption of the new Law on Personal Data Protection and on the one hand, the question arises whether Data Controllers now fulfill their legal obligations and appoint their Data Protection Officers, and on the other hand, do foreign companies appoint their representatives in the Republic of Serbia? What activities is the institution of the Commissioner undertaking to improve the protection of our citizens' data, and what is the practice in the European Union countries in this area?
During the celebration of the Day, the Deputy Commissioner for Personal Data Protection Sanja Unković will present the latest publication with numerous examples from practice regarding supervision over the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection, in the part of handling citizens' complaints, as well as in the part of the Commissioner's opinions and positions initiated by the requests of various subjects.
Aiming to educate the youngest, elementary and high school students, the Commissioner's institution, in cooperation with the organization Propulsion and journalist and psychologist Dragan Ilić, created a brochure for children that will also be presented on this occasion.
