Two-day Training Held "Better Protection of Personal Data Processing"
The importance of improving data processing inspection methods and methodology will contribute to the quality of work of the Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, which was highlighted at the two-day training, organized as part of the project "Support for Strengthening Rule of Law in the Republic of Serbia" financed by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), whereas the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) is in charge for its implementation.
Milan Marinović, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, as well as Maja Vitaljić, a key GIZ expert, spoke about the importance of raising the quality and improving personal data processing, while Rosana Lemut Strle, EU expert on personal data protection, shared with the participants the EU experience on methods of planning and implementing training on the personal data processing. Sanja Unković, Deputy Commissioner - for personal data protection, spoke about the importance of improving the methods and methodology in the process of performing inspection supervision.
Special attention during the training was devoted to the preparation of the annual inspection supervision plan and its implementation based on violation reports, as well as the determination of goals, priorities, assessment, and reporting methods. Referring to the inspection supervision strategies and tools, methods of obtaining information, monitoring the inspection checklist, as well as checking information and data, the focus was put on key activities in the process of inspection supervision of personal data protection.
The importance of participation in the procedure, the imposition of measures to ensure compliance, but also the monitoring of the implementation of the ordered measures, greatly contributes to raising the capacity of all subjects in the personal data protection system, which, in a broader context, is also one of the goals of the training.
