Belgrade - All political parties represented in the Assembly of Serbia agree that it is necessary for Serbia to have a Law on Secret Data Classification and they are ready to support the proposal for its adoption, but the Serbian Radical Party (Srpska radikalna stranka - SRS) would never agree to accept the proposals from non-governmental sector.  Lady-Head of the ruling Democratic  Party (Demokratska stranka - DS) MP group Nada Kolundžija, said that the majority coalition finds it very important to pass those laws, and that they would surely pass the Assembly procedure. She however, stated to propose that those two laws should be prepared in the Government and pointed out that she doesn't know what kinds of law shall arrive from the other sides. - Of course, we'll work on adoption of those laws - pointed out Kolundžija adding that one should absolutely harmonize the Law on Information with the things considered a secret, and those that are not considered as a secret. Opposition MPs consider that Serbia needs a Law on Secret Data Classification. Demo-Christian Party of Serbia MP, elected from the list of Liberal-Democratic Party, Vladan Batic, pointed out that his MP Club shall support draft laws delivered to the Assembly procedure by non-governmental organizations.

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, Rodoljub Sabic evaluated yesterday that determining contribution for resolving many problems related to the position and action of media and journalists in the transition process must be given by the journalists themselves and their professional associations. "But, some problems are irresolvable without measures that can be implemented only by power.  The power is obliged to create prerequisites for autonomous action of media and freedom from pressures and negative influences of any kind", is stated in Sabic's written statement.

International Criminal Court for Former Yugoslavia, famous Hague Tribunal, falls in the group of subjects whose actions are, with a reason, for a long time already attracting the attention of a good part of our public. Therefore it is, at least for me, regardless of often present lack of concentration of our public, still surprising that one event related to the work of this Tribunal has almost completely slipped its attention.

Sabic: Infringement of  transparency of the ownership structure of companies

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance of Serbia, Rodoljub Sabic, has pointed out that the proposed changes of the Law on Securities' Market do not secure transparency of the ownership structure of joint stock companies.

If one should judge by the announcements, priority in the future activities of our Parliament shall be passing of the law bringing us closer to so-called White Schengen List. That besides else  means that we could soon also have the right law on personal data protection. And it is really high time for that.  In the world,  research of public opinion show that in the developed countries, even  80 percents of citizens sees the entitlement to privacy immediately after the entitlement to life and freedom, and in all, even poor countries, where citizens face much more existential problems, privacy ranks high on the ladder of social values. It is normal, because that is an expression of old, eternal and big man's need to be „left alone“.

Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, Rodoljub Sabic has once again reminded all authorities of their legal obligation to deliver Annual Reports on Actions Taken in order to Implement the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance.
