Implementation of Law on free Access to Information

BELGRADE - The Security Information Agency last year took important steps in acting on requests of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, respecting the procedure set under the law, performing its duties and publishing information on its operations - Rodoljub Sabic stated in the annual report on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information.

The report states that the SIA displayed in previous years "intolerable, ignorant attitude towards the Law on Free Access to Information, rights of citizens and the public and its own duties set under the law".

Belgrade - Most of the public authorities of Serbia exceeded the deadlines set by the Government's Action Plan for Liberalization of Visa Regime with the EU, but 90 percent of the work has been or will soon be finished, which will create conditions for he visa waiver regime to become a reality for Serbian citizens by the end of this year.

Commissioner for Information Rodoljub Sabic sent to the Ministry of Internal Affairs a binding decision ordering it to submit to daily paper "Danas" Government's action plan for the visa waiver program with the EU

Belgrade - Commissioner for Information of Public Importance Rodoljub Sabic annulled a decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs by which a request to submit to daily paper "Danas" the Governments Action Plan on Serbia's planned action for the visa waiver program with the EU was denied. Mr. Sabic ordered to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to submit to our paper a copy of a document from which we can learn Serbia's planned activities until April this year aimed at liberalization of the EU visa regime towards Serbia.

A few months ago, Andjelka Popovic passed away after childbirth at the Gynecological Clinic in Kragujevac.
