The Administrative Committee of the Serbian Parliament endorsed yesterday the act of the Commissioner for Information of Public Interest Rodoljub Sabic on the internal organization and systematization of jobs in that service. Sabic will, in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection, as of January 2009, also assume the competences in that area.According to the said Law, adopted in November, the service shall be called Service of the Commissioner for Information of Public Interest and Personal Data Protection. Pursuant to the act of Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic, the Service shall have 69 employees. Sabic, who attended the session of the Administrative Committee, said that as of the beginning of the next year, the Service will face a much more complex task in view of its forthcoming assignment and that it will be a major challenge to find the professional staff required for its activities. Sabic said that the Service of the Commissioner shall end the year with 800 unsolved cases pertaining mainly to the area of anticorruption.
