With the amendments to the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance, the legal deadline for authorities to create an Information Booklet on their work in the Unified Information System of Information Booklets has expired. The publication of Information Booklets is one of the measures for improving the transparency of the work of the authorities, by the same law.
This information system is managed and maintained by the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, and is accessed through the web address https://informator.poverenik.rs/pristup. The establishment of the said information system enables every Internet user to obtain information on the work of all government bodies in one place, from the highest state bodies, through provincial and local self-government bodies, public companies, institutions, companies whose founders or majority board members are other state authorities, all the way to local community offices.
On this day, more than five thousand government authorities fulfilled their legal obligation to publish Information Booklets on their work, while the remaining ones continue to publish them, meaning that the amount of data in this information system is continuously growing. This way, significant progress was made in the field of open data and transparency of state authorities, enabling citizens to exercise their right to access information of public importance more simply and effectively.
