FOR INFORMATION OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE AND PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

During the five days of the training, in the period from February 8-27, the participants of the training - Data Protection Officers from various public authorities, had the opportunity to improve their current knowledge and remove doubts about the application of Personal Data Protection Law. About thirty participants brushed up their knowledge of the Law with new examples from the practice of both the Commissioner and other authorities. In addition to the said topics, the emphasis was on the application of data protection measures along with advice for its practical use. Dividing into different working groups, solving tasks, and the final test, allowed the training participants to take an active part in the training program.

This training was developed as part of the World Bank Project "Training Services for Data Protection Officers and Raising Awareness of Civil Servants in accordance with the GDPR, the Law on Personal Data Protection, and the Law on Information Security of the Republic of Serbia" whose beneficiary is Office for IT and E-Government. The project is implemented by a consortium led by Ernest&Young d.o.o. Belgrade, with the support of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, and the National Academy for Public Administration.

Within this project, several more trainings will be held, which should include an overall of 150 Data Protection Officers.
