On Monday, February 22, 2021, a meeting was held between the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection Milan Marinović and the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection at Eurojust, Diana Alonso Blas, with the participation of representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The meeting was organized on the initiative of Ms. Alonso Blas via video conference within the first evaluation of the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Eurojust.
At the meeting, the Commissioner presented the results of the implementation of the new Law on Personal Data Protection and the challenges faced by the institution, as well as the launched initiative to further improve this area through the activation of the Personal Data Protection Strategy. Ms. Alonso Blas supported the activities of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection and confirmed that European institutions in the field of personal data protection face similar challenges. In this regard, she emphasized the openness of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Eurojust for further cooperation with the Commissioner, as well as the readiness to provide expert support in order to improve the right to protection of personal data.
