The Commissioner for information of public importance has been present today at the presentation at Velika Plana of the web site and the Information Bulletin of the Municipal Court, and at opening the Information point.        

On that occasion, the Commissioner, Mr. Rodoljub Sabic, assessed these Court activities as a good contribution to improvement of the transparent work of the authorities in this local environment, and said:

“Access to information related to work of the public authorities must not be a privilege of the individuals, but the right of every citizen in a democratic society.

Governance does not mean power, money and information monopoly, but accountability. For this reason, every effort to improve transparency is a measure of responsibility of the authorities towards the citizens, tax payers and voters.

Such responsibility is, of course, also on the judicial bodies, but it is very important that those who have more money and power at their disposal, executive authorities and public enterprises before all,  are more efficient in becoming transparent in their work.“
