Commissioner Milan Marinovic and Assistant Secretary General Slavoljupka Pavlovic hosted a group of young people in front of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights today, within the program "How to research and report on the human rights situation", for the third year in a row.
Commissioner Marinović acquainted the participants of the program with the work of the Commissioner, his competencies and regulations. The Commissioner especially pointed out the current work on amendments to the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance, emphasizing the importance of changes in the provisions defining sanctions for those state bodies that do not act upon the Commissioner's decisions, as well as the announced greater powers of the Commissioner.
Assistant Secretary General Slavoljupka Pavlović presented the practice of acting in the field of free access to information of public importance, and what are the main problems that the Commissioner’s Office is being faced with in its work.
