The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection received the Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia, Ambassador Sem Fabrizi, today, and had a long discussion with him.
The main topics of the discussion were: European integration process of the Republic of Serbia, in particular, the issues in the implementation of the Action Plan for Chapter 23, the work and results of the Commissioner's institution, the attitude of the executive and the legislative towards the Commissioner's institution and the new legislative framework in the field of personal data protection.
The Ambassador expressed particular interest in the Commissioner’s position on the issues regarding the adoption of the new Law on Personal Data Protection, as well as on the significance and effects of the annual report submitted by the Commissioner to the National Assembly.
The Ambassador particularly emphasized the importance of the work of the Commissioner as an independent institution in the field of personal data protection and expressed the readiness of the EU to help further development and strengthening of the institution.
Амбасадор је показао посебно интересовање за ставове Повереника о проблемима у доношењу новог Закона о заштити података о личности као и за значај и ефекте годишњег извештаја који Повереник подноси Народној скупштини.
Амбасадор је посебно нагласио важност деловања Повереника као независне институције у области заштите података о личности и исказао спремност ЕУ да помогне даљем развоју и јачању институције.
