A representative of the Commissioner will be addressing today, on 11 March, the international conference titled "Whistleblowing for Change" organized by the Transparency International and the Heinrich Böll Stiftung in Berlin.

On the organizer's invite, more than 80 experts from across the world gathered in Berlin to address the importance of the protection of whistleblowers, the role of the private sector and the need to link various persons involved without taking borders into account. In addition to panel discussions dedicated to certain regions, a special panel discussion is dedicated to the role of the private sector. Ms Nevena Ruzic, Assistant Secretary General in the Commissioner's Office, will be addressing the panel discussion dedicated to the protection of whistleblowers in Europe.

Costs of participation of the Commissioner's representative – transport and accommodation costs – will be borne by organizers.
