Ms Nevena Ruzic, Assistant Secretary General, was elected as a member of the Bureau of the Consultative Committee of the CoE Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (Convention 108) at the 28th Plenary Session of the Committee held in Strasbourg on 19-22 June. The Bureau is the working body of the Convention consisting of representatives of 8 states which are parties to the Convention (at the moment, there are 43 states which are parties to the Convention), who are elected for the period of 2 years. The Republic of Serbia is the only country which is neither an EU Member State nor a party to the Schengen Convention, but has its representative as a member of the Bureau. Member of the Bureau are 7 elected members and 1 member by virtue of office: Jean-Philippe Walter (Switzerland), the Chairperson; Hana Štěpánková (Czech Republic), First Deputy; Catherine Pozzo di Borgo (France), Second Deputy; and members: Gérard Lommel (Luxembourg), Augustin Puente Escobar (Spain), Alessandra Pierucci (Italy) and Nevena Ruzic.
