Today, on February 24, 2023, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia is holding the Second Extraordinary Session in the Thirteenth Legislature, where, among other things, the Report on the work of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection for 2021 with the Proposal of the conclusions of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government from December 26, 2022, is being considered.

Commissioner Milan Marinović, in his address to the National Assembly and citizens, among other things, emphasized the importance of the National Assembly's consideration of the Commissioner's annual reports and other independent bodies and expressed his satisfaction that the matters in the area of the right to access information of public importance and the rights of natural persons related to personal data processing are gradually and from year to year going in the right direction, but yet again indicated the need for amendments to the Law on Personal Data Protection to ensure a more effective realization of this human right.
